Richard Palmer

Richard Palmer has over 35 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily in Animal Heath but also the human ethical and consumer sectors having held a variety of local and global roles in the UK, Switzerland and the USA.

Richard graduated from the University of Warwick in 1984 with a BSc(Hons) in Microbiology and Virology. Following sales and marketing roles in the UK with Janssen-Cilag in human OTC, ethical and animal health divisions, he joined Pharmacia Animal Health and headed up their UK subsidiary, their European Companion Animal marketing team and then the Global Ruminants marketing team based in the USA. This was followed by a number of senior operational and global roles in Novartis, including NW Europe Operating Unit Head for Novartis Consumer Health and finally, Global Head of Marketing for the Animal Health Division in Basel, Switzerland.

Following around 30 years working within multi-national companies focused on bringing new innovation and branded products to the market, Richard was most recently the Global Head of Sales & Marketing for the veterinary generics company, Norbrook Laboratories Ltd for 6 years.
